Tools for Today: The Christian Courier Web Site

Tools for Today Narrow.001

From time to time, I use this column to discuss resources that are useful to Christians in our evangelism efforts and in our own personal growth. I try to highlight tools that are readily available and practical.

Many of us spend a great deal of time on-line. In view of what Paul says in Ephesians 5:15-16 about redeeming the time, i.e., using it for godly purposes and not wasting it, we should ask ourselves whether the internet is helping our hindering our personal service to Christ. Thankfully, the internal provides not only challenges to Christian living (e.g., pornography, gambling, gossip), but also some wonderful opportunities for growth in our knowledge of the Bible.

The works of great Christian thinkers are quickly being published on-line. For example, when I have a Bible question, one of the first places to which I turn is www.ChristianCourier.com. This site is the brainchild of brother Wayne Jackson, a great gospel preacher from Stockton, California. Brother Jackson is the co-founder of Apologetics Press, the editor of the monthly journal The Christian Courier, and the author of many books and commentaries. on the site, he and his sons publish articles that address doctrinal and social concerns from a well-informed, biblical perspective. While there are books and other materials for sale on the site, the on-line content is free.

To give you a flavor of what you can find on this Web site, here are the titles of some articles:

  • Five Questions About Evolution that Charles Darwin Can’t Answer
  • What Does the Bible Say about the Rapture?
  • Do the Psalms Authorize Instrumental Music in Worship?
  • What Do You Know About Demons?
  • Crushing the Serpent’s Head: What is the Meaning of Genesis 3:15?
  • When Does a Human “Person” Begin?

Any Bible student will find these subjects interesting. If you are in the midst of studying a Bible topic, you are likely to find help at www.ChristianCourier.com.

If you know of other helpful study tools that you think should be featured in this column, please let me know.
